PK Safety Supply Where Safety Means a Great Deal! |

An Arc Flash Lanyard on the other hand must do all these things while having a very high melting point. Otherwise it might fail at just the moment when it is most needed. To accomplish this DBI/SALA uses Kevlar, Nomex or some combination of the two to make a lanyard assembly. Another thing to notice is that some models have a snap hook on just one end. The safety regulations followed by some of our customers specify harnesses that have no metal above the waist. To continue this through the lanyard means having a web loop at the harness end. This loop is passed through the corresponding loop on the back of the harness and doubled back to be secured. In most cases it is difficult to completely eliminate metal from the lanyard on the anchorage end, so a snap hook is retained here. Like our other fall protection lanyards, an integral shock absorber limits arresting forces in the event of a fall to 900 lbs. or less. Meets or exceeds all applicable industry standards including OSHA, ANSI and the stringent ANSI Z359.
