Bayco XLR-9850 Intrinsically Safe Task Light

This new light from Bayco offers some really unique features that set it apart for our customers. The intrinsically safe rating, while common in many smaller flashlights, is quite a thing to have in an area light. Our customers have purchased hundreds of ‘explosion proof’ work lights, but these are tethered to a power cord. And in many high risk locations, having the confidence that an intrinsically safe light gives is a huge relief to the Safety Director. This has been noted by several of our Refinery and Well Drilling customers, as well as people who do Confined Space Entry.

The specifications are listed below, but the real story is the amount of light that comes from this rugged and well designed personal task light. In particular, the side mounted flood light is mentioned as being very useful. The triangular shape allows the light to be laid on the floor, a shelf or other surface and not roll away. And with a full charge on the NiMH battery, this is going on for a minimum of 9 hours!

Durability is a huge issue for personal task lights in the workplace. Making the case out of Lexan (polycarbonate) was a good start, if you have ever tried to remove the batteries from a dented aluminum flashlite.
